Mind set on moving

Kurt94

Hey everyone :)
My name is kurt, I'm 17 and planning on moving to Malta when I finish college, so I'll be between the ages of 18-20. I was just wondering if I could get some general info on things like, working, living, healthcare, taxes, national insurance/social security, things I would need to do before/when I get there, and how to go about doing it.
As a footnote to that, I'm also looking to do 3 months work expirence in at kitchen/hotel, to helps with college and also give me a better idea of living in Malta, without it being a holiday, I would be looking to do the work experience between may-August 2013.
Thank you for any help you can give me, and let me know if there are other things I should know that I have missed out.

Kurt :)

Thanks, I have been doing, and will continue to do so, but I felt I might get some info quicker by asking in a more general post, but yes, will continue to look through other threads

Hi I am also thinking of moving to Malta for next summer and will be 19.
Are you thinking of going there next summer too? Where abouts do you want to go?
I heard for British people healthcare is free? But I am not sure.
I think to live there for over 3 months you have to apply for residency, which will be automatically granted if you are from the EU.
Im not fully sure myself on these things so correct me if im wrong please!

Healthcare for british people is not free but can be reciprocal as long as you fulfil the right criteria or work and pay tax and SSC (NI). Same goes for residency - if you are an EU citizen you can stay as long as you want with the res cert but again you must apply for it and fulfil certain conditions..these are explained elsewhere on the forum.
