Shipping your shopping

brayster99

I believe that kind soul here posted the details of a part EU funded site that had 4 european hubs for the purpose of shipping goods that had been bought on-line for forwarding to Malta.

I cant find the link anymore  and I think I am wearing out google.

Please repost.

Hello brayster99,

Here's the link to forum Malta; category "removal".

It might help or else I am sure some members will come fast to help.

Of course feel free to ask any question.

See you around,
Melissa

Do you mean just online shopping as opposed to removals? There is forward2me and I think Malta Post also run something similar. I got a few quotes and in my experience the fee they charge is extortionate and most places do deliver here

Toon

theres a crew called weshipyoushop or the other way round that do it.

try going on the facebook pages as theres a page called malta shopping and its full of helful hints and shops that ship here

brayster99

finally i found it --- not sure about rules of posting companies. Looks a bit pricey?

John Lewis Ship to Malta, as do House of fraser...

Maltapost and the like are a bit expensive but the service is good.

Mind you John lewis only took 3 days to deliver a Duvet and it only cost £6 more :)

Am i reading this right can i get all my personal belongings wrapped up on a pallet and sent them over to malta with shiplowcost.com instead of using a removal company - looks awfully cheap - is there a catch

not really its the same group of companies that offer this service and the shopping service. Remember that the main cost of removal services is the nice men who come round and pack up all your stuff and take it away in their van.

If you box/pallet it yourself and deliver it to their warehouse and don't care about things like insurance then shipping is MUCH cheaper.

karensmith786

thank you  - much cheaper and you can take out extra insurance if your goods value more than £1000
thanks again

In my opinion shiplowcost seems to be the better one overall (online payment, lots of hubs, good prices, good delivery time, clear website and online tracking tool). If you prefer to pay by cash and/or the parcel is weight about 0,5kg and 1kg then SendOn. If the parcel is very small (not more than 0,5kg) aircargologistics is the cheapest option.

georgeingozo

Some charge based on weight and volume, whereas sendon is weight only (I believe), so sendon can work out cheapest if package is large for the weight

georgeingozo

Some companies charge more if delivered to Gozo, and some need to be picked up from an office, not delivered to your home
