Renewing Britsh Passport

Dave&Rea

Hi everyone, does anyone know the correct process for renewal of a british passport. Need forms too. I saw online I can apply but it reads as this is only an option to UK RESIDENCE.
My passport I discovered last night expires in August so it's a priority

Try this link, it should allow you to apply online, though you do have to print off the form, sign and post it. (and pay of course).

Hope this helps

just reminded me i need to get mine done and it looks like they no longer offer the year extension :( is it easy to get a renewal ... what about getting someone to sign to say they have known me for 3 plus years etc ?
cause in malta that no -one

anyone done this service is it fairly quick turnaround?

My Daughter in Law did it from Germany back in February and got hers in 2 - 3 weeks, don't know what she did about getting signed by someone who has known her for three years but I'll ask on Wednesday as they are coming to see us. Does that apply on a renewal or is it, perhaps, just on first applications?

I renewed mine in Dec. Took about an hour but you have to telephone first. That gets you out of the soup in the short term.

Renewed mine a couple of months ago ...

Start the application (and pay) on line then print off forms and send  away along with your old passport by recorded delivery.

Takes about ten days to two weeks, you can track its process but mine came back before I even started to track its progress!

Very efficient and cheaper than when we last did it via France.

If its a renewal no need to get it signed by someone else.

Does The British high commission still offer a 12 month extension though?

The service, so I've found out, was a temp facility, now unavailable anywhere.
Hardly a Malta thing, but I have to admit, had I realised the thread was in the Malta forum, I wouldn't have even read it.
Still, I'll pass the link on this one occasion.

we did ours here in Cyprus just a few weeks back - did it all online, paid upfront, got the new photos and sent it all off  - 10 days later new passport in our hands  -  7-10 days later we got our old ones back too - all good

its all trackable for progress too
