Two lls in tallinja. You should be able to get it from overseas, I downloaded it when in the UK I'm sure...

Hi all I'm moving to Malta soon and was wound earring what are my chances of getting work . I don't speak Maltese neither does my partner . I am a chef and my partner is a stone mason also he has been a plumber

I have just returned from holiday in Malta, but also looking for accommodation and jobs for my son. There are jobs available that require Maltese speaking, especially dealing with the public. I have spoken to English speaking people that have jobs in supermarkets, etc. that do not speak Maltese. On this experience, I am advising my son to take any possible job on entering Malta and then make progress to having some knowledge of the language. Non-skilled labour is quite easy to find.

What has this to do with working in Malta and not speaking the language?

I've been here 8 years and worked in igaming and now currently for a tech company.  I work in Adminsitration/HR and previously as an accounts assistant so have never had to do the graveyard shifts, just work normal office hours for a pretty decent salary.  My lack of Maltese has never held me back but then I guess it depends what kind of stuff you are looking for or are willing to do.  If you are working with local people then yes I can understand needing it, but in the business community, English is the standard.

I have found that Maltese companies are the worst payers, foreign (specifically Russian or Scandi Companies) pay the best.  Try Linked In (I got my current position through Linked In) or the recruitment agencies.

As for the buses, well I am from West Wales so in comparison the bus service here is brilliant!  hahaha  And to be honest you can't go wrong with the cost.  €26 for 30 days unlimited travel with the Tallinja card is just amazing!

That's true and there are plenty of bar/restaurant staff that are not Maltese.

I'm a chef by trade also use to be a land lady . So I should be ok I think . But not sure about my parent
