Santa Clara Primary School Sliema

ss9pew

Hi. My wife and I are moving to Malta soon with our 2 boys (4 & 2). We're looking to move to Sliema and  enrolling our 4 year old into the Santa Clara Primary school in Sliema. We contacted the school to try to arrange a visit so that we could take a look around, but they said it wasn't possible.

We have heard some good things about the school, but of course we would feel better if we were to meet the teachers and take a look ourselves. So we're really looking for some advice and opinions here. Does anyone have kids at the school and if so what are your experiences of it, good and bad?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.

Welcome to the Forum, I assume the reason they could not show you around the school is that they are still on summer holiday until the end of this month, hopefully someone can help you, good luck
and hope your move goes well.

In general state schools do not allow tours to protect child privacy etc.  Private ones do as they will try to sell you

I have kids in same college, but not that school and we are very satisfied with it

as for Sliema branch, from my exp of summer school and from stories of my friends who do have kids there:

pros: mostly °µÍø½ûÇø kids so English prevails there

cons: a lot of kids in class, when my younger one had 9 kids in class, same year in Sliema had 17 in class, something to ask about when you'll be enrolling your kids

I don't think they will allow you tour of school, like volcane said - they protect child privacy

Thanks to all of you for your replies. Yes it seems like we will be unable to take a look around the school before applying for a place, which is a shame.

Most of the things we have heard have been positive so far, which is promising.

Since our boy is only 4.5 years old we are keen for the atmosphere in the school to be a playful, relaxed and caring one. Any opinions on this aspect would be really helpful... thanks again!
