Travelling to Malta From UK Via Corridor Country

Lukeyo

Hi,

So I was supposed to move to Malta at the end of the last year but the travel ban/brexit caused everything to fall through. I've just been offered a new position with a different company but the travel ban is obviously still in place.

I know you can still get to Malta from the UK by quarantining in a corridor country and then getting a pcr test there, but was just wondering if anyone here had experience doing this or could advise which countries might be best?

Thanks,

Luke

I dont think there really is any "best" atm, the situation changes a lot, you'll probably quarintine this side too.

Aside from that, be 100% sure your new job offer is in line of those for non EU members and that they are willing to follow the - quite extensive - formalities to employ a TCN.

Well there definitely are better places than others, some countries are requiring you to stay at designated hotels costing £2000 for 10 days, while others allow you to make your own arrangements for quarantine which would cost nearer £500. No if you go through a corridor country you do not have to quarantine in Malta. These are countries that Malta has designated as safe to travel from with a negative PCR test.

Thanks but I'm not handling the visa process, but yes the company knows the requirements they are dealing with the Visa. From what they have said and what I have read, the requirements aren't particularly extensive as long as the job is in one of the fields Malta is interested in.
