Could it be tough to find a flat if work contract is for limited time?

Hi all

I'm currently living in Singapore and have been offered work in Netherlands in the IT field on a 1-year contract ("bepaalde tijd").

So this is not one of those so-called 'contractor' positions, but it is also not a "permanent" contract.

I am also not sure if this company is willing to become a guarantor for the rental agreement. I have not asked them yet (started thinking about this issue first today).

Would this make it difficult for me to find an apartment for rent?

My main concern is that I would end up having to rent some short-term furnished place because of this (I would not want this as I have my own furniture that I want to bring, besides that the short-term apartments are often more expensive).

Hi, I missed this question, sorry for that. Depending on the agency you are using and the owner of the apartment you would like to rent, rules can be different. But in general, as long as you have ways to prove you're able to pay for the rent, deposit and agency commission if applicable, you shouldn't have a problem finding a place.
