i would like to move my family to the netherlands i need to know if i arrive on a shengen visa can i change or adjust my status legally wether for work or study?

I think only if u wind job and employer that will ask for u work permit and trust me it is not easy at all.

I think it is not possible to go from travel visa (schengen) to work permit.
