Hi all!

The Maxican Viking

My name is Todd and I moved here in November with my wife and daughter from the Isle of Wight in the UK.

Our landing spot is the beautiful de Ronde Venen village of Waverveen, well, actually about a kilometre out into the polders from it to be exact in a nice little farm house.
Such a beautiful area, surrounded by cattle, sheep, chickens, geese, heron, and other bird life.
We have a pheasant couple living in the bush out front of the house, some kind of small hawk like bird in the tree in the backyard with a bigger one of a different type across the road and a baby heron that moves between our and our neighbours fields.
Watching the bird life out the window has proven far more entertaining than the telly.

We are all Americans and my wife is also British which is how I and my daughter are able to be here.
We are part of the wave of people fleeing to the EU from Brexit and oh boy am I glad that the government of the Netherlands has decided to be nice to us on this score, we had a fall back position to the DAFT Treaty ( I am an IT contractor so self employment is my usual state anyway ) but that would have meant contracts no longer than 9 months with any single employer according to the rules that no more than 70% of your income can come from a single source. Most of my clients want me for a year or more.

We are in the process of jumping through the hoops here, waiting on the Apostille verified certificates so we can finish registering with the IND and gemeente, I am hoping the US gets those back soon as I have a contract waiting for me over in Schiphol-Rijk.

Anyway hello from our family to all of you!

Wow, I am jealous!
Thanks for your large introduction and you prove that not every 做厙輦⑹ is into the wildlife of the city.
I hope you like the country life and share some of your stories here and of course your experiences.
