Hello,

There are a lot of IT jobs in NL!!!

Search jobs non-Dutch speakers on google ;)

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

You need to consider how you are going to get into Holland in the first place; there are several potential options open to you; my advice at this stage is to read the work visa section on the Dutch Government (IND) website; this will take you straight there.

Google is a potential source for job seekers. I would recommend you join LinkedIn and ready out to your peers already working in the Netherlands and find out who is hiring and perhaps look for an employer who can sponsor you as a Highly Skilled worker, or even better, the potential to get the 30% tax break available to some.

If you have any further specific questions, please come back to us.

Hope this helps.

Cynic,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have an Aunt who is living in The Netherlands and is EU status. Im currently on LinkedIn and have been diligently scouring various job sites for IT positions on Google as well. I dont know if my Aunt living there would make it easier for me to get temporary MVV or something? I was living in the Soest back in 87-90, and spoke Dutch but have since lost it, but Im learning Dutch on Babbel now.
I welcome any feedback/ suggestions on how I can move and eventually become a Dutch Citizen.
Thank you

Hi again.

Your aunt can certainly sponsor your visit visa, but not the HSM or 30% type visas and once you are in the country those are no longer available to you, so if you're hopeful of those, then it's best to let your new employer sponsor you.

I just checked that link I sent you; as a US citizen, you're exempt MVV (), you just need to find a job. LinkedIn, I just checked, do a search for IT jobs in The Netherlands, it gives a couple of links, but more importantly, it gives you other groups to follow for things in that field, so work and IT and many more. Make sure your latest CV is on LinkedIn, agencies use software to search there and find candidates.

It's a bit hard at the moment because of COVID and many people have lost their jobs, or are working from home, but in general, the Netherlands is always looking for people who can contribute to the country, it's not that hard if you can find a job.

Hope this helps.
