blackadder101

Dear All

Perhaps someone can enlighten me. Once you have registered your local dutch address and obtained your BSN number how does one obtain a permit to work in the Netherlands ?. I am from the UK my understanding is now that the UK has left the EU every person from the UK has to have a resident permit and I a work permit ?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

You apply to the IND; based on what you've told us, this will take you straight to the relevant page.

You might want to wait until Covid has been sorted.

Hope this helps.

Im originally from Glasgow mate and we have lived here for a year, we got a letter from the ind in may/June saying we had to apply for our temporary residence permit (lasts 5 years and if your still here you apply for a permanent one) by nov/dec 2020
It also stated in the letter that you should apply as soon as possible as it can take up to 6 months on a decision on wether to grant you one based on your situation
We got our permits delivered to the door by a government employee who checked our passport and and then handed it over to us
I dont want to say anybody who never applied before the deadline is humped, especially if they have been living here and working and more importantly paying into the Dutch tax system, the uk feels like a steal compared to here tax wise...but I wouldnt like to be fighting that fight myself tbh
