Family visit

casseyissay

Hi,

I’m just wondering if anyone here knows if my aunt will be approved as a tourist here in Norway? I am planning on inviting her together with my mom for a 3 months tourist visa. She is a senior but still have a work. Just to make sure we won’t face any problems upon applying that’s why I came here to ask for some suggestions. Thanks and have a great new year!

Hello Norwegian Here this is the information i Found at the UDI (The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration )

(In English Translated ''Source UDI'' )

You must pay an application fee.

You must deliver all the documents that are on the embassy's checklist. You can find the checklist by clicking on the "How to search" button below and choosing which country you live in.

You must have a passport that is valid for at least three months after the end of your visit. The passport cannot be more than 10 years old.

You must have valid travel insurance.

You must have money for your stay in Norway and for the journey home. You must usually have NOK 500 per day you will be in Norway. An alternative is for someone you know, who lives in Norway, to vouch for you.

You cannot have an entry ban to Norway or Schengen.

If you have been in the Schengen area during the last 90 days, you need to check when it is possible for you to re-enter and how many days you can stay in Schengen. Use the EU visa calculator to check this (external website)

You must provide fingerprints.

If you are under 18 years of age, both your parents or someone else who is responsible for you must sign your application.

You must have an invitation from the person you are visiting.

Hei Asgeir,

Thank you for your reply although I know and have read those already in the UDI page. I know all those requirements will be met since she have all those specially a job and a guarrantee. I was just unsure if she will be approved since she was not my immediate family. But she will be travelling together with my mom as a plan so hopefully everything will go smoothly. I was referring to other who already tried the same thing and was granted to maybe give me some advice or tips if there is something I need to know before sending an application. But then again thank you for your reply 🙂

@casseyissay

there is possibility for her to get the visa yes, as long as she also provide sort of proof that she will return back to her country, something that she os committed to any strong supporting document, eg: latter from her employer or consent letter from the husband if she is married!

all the best!

Thank you, yes she is still employed and her employer is fully aware about her vacation here. It is actually her employer who helped her acquired her passport when they heard about my plan on inviting my aunt over here. So I guess we have a strong ground to be approved for her visa. I appreciate your reply again thanks and have a nice day 😊
