How long does VFS hold onto your passport?

I am working on applying for a engagement visa to get married in Norway. I noticed on VFS's site the last step is to pick up your passport. How long do they keep your passport for?

I assume they keep it until the visa is approved, but the wait time is currently 5 months according to UDI. Will they keep my passport the entire 5 months?

I have a trip to Norway planned for next month, but haven't bought plane tickets yet thankfully.

Hi shuichon, i asked the vfs about that too coz i need to go back to my work, they just give me some instructions. I write a letter of request and copy of my ticket give it to the norway embassy not in vfs. It is in BGC. Hope it helps 馃槉
