The visa is issued by the consulate. With this visa, you travel to Portugal and after an interview at AIMA, if you are approved, you are given a residence permit. The waiting time for the visa depends on many factors. There are countries where the response is quicker and others where it is more difficult, and where there are monthly slots for visas. You just have to wait, each case is different.

Actually yesterday I went to the Portugal consulate and they told me they forward my visa application to AIMA and now they are waiting for AIMA decision regarding my visa application. I asked them how long it will take but they don’t know how long will take , it’s depends on AIMA

With due respect, I think the portuguese embassies are for diplomatic matters only and do not deal with visas. It's the job of consulates but only from the administrative point of view. All visa decisions are made centrally in Lisbon by AIMA on behalf of the portuguese government.

What you say is obvious. But it's the consulates that deal with the initial interview, and it's from the start of the process that the days count.

Not yet. Portugal embassy told me they are still waiting AIMA approval.
