Hi - apologies if this has been covered before, but we are in the process of buying a house in Portugal in the Algarve (Sao Barth. De Messines) and we need some help with recommendations. Can anyone help with advice of how to get house insurance?聽 Also if anyone can help with recommendations for:

- a gardener
- an electrician
- a general joiner
- a plumber

We bought a flat in Ferragudo last year. Millennium is our bank and we bought the home insurance through them. We also bought auto insurance through the bank. I believe all the banks have similar partnerships with insurers. As a tip, we asked for a quote with and without an alarm system. It turned out that the home insurance with an monitored alarm system was half the price. So, after getting a quote from alarm companies, we found that the monitored alarm price, plus the insurance price equalled about the same price as insurance without an alarm system. So, we opted to get the system and more peace of mind.

We got our one insurance through the bank as well it was much cheaper we also got our car insurance through the bank , sorry but cannot help with any of the others on your list but I鈥檓 sure someone on here lives in your area or close that may know someone.
