Question about D7 visa passive income as self employed

Isa Al

Hey, my sister and I are going to apply for the D7 visa soon and I just have a question regarding the passive income as self-employed.

my sister and I are fresh graduates and we don't work yet, but our mother owns a company and we are financially dependent on her. I know the D7 visa requires a passive income and usually, the pensioners or self-employed people apply for it. So now our mother will add us partners/shareholders in her company and the monthly income for the 3 of us will be more than the minimum wage.

My question is: is it okay if when applying the license and ownership certificate to show that we are newly added as partners? taking into consideration that the company is functioning for over 5 years and is making enough profit.

Like when we apply for the D7 visa we will be newly added shareholders maybe just 1-2 months old so is that a problem? or as long as we are shareholders and we have sufficient revenue that's fine?

Hi Isa Al,

I don't think this is a problem, as long as you both show to SEF that you will have a stable and periodic income, which will meet the minimum requirements of your D7 visa. But I am not sure. Try asking the consulate:

The Portuguese representation for Lebanon is based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Kind Regards

Hi, I think if there was a requirement to have held a job for a minimum amount of time they would have said that in their requirements.
