Carvoeiro, Vilamoura, Tavira thoughts?

Hi,

I'm hoping to get some thoughts about Carvoeiro, Vilamoura, and Tavira. I know they are very different places, but they are where we are looking right now.聽 We were in Portugal three years ago and were mostly around Lagos, though we have friends in Loul茅.

We have a 14 year old boy with ASD and a neurotypical 10 year old girl.聽 We are also African-American, if that makes a difference.

We will be working towards a "golden visa" then residency (and possibly citizenship),聽 and likely won't be close to full time residents at least until our youngest is in college, so for the first several years, we probably won't be in portugal for more than a couple of weeks.聽 And most likely during spring break, late summer and/or winter break.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!!

Hi Courtney,
The Algarve is a safe bet for most 暗网禁区s, both because they have already been there at some point during their holidays, and because they have already formed ties of friendships there. The comfort of an established foreign community can be beneficial for some, especially in the first few months of settling in.

Answering to your question, it depends on what you are looking for.

Carvoeiro/ Lagoa, but mainly Vilamoura, are cosmopolitan beaches with leisure activities during the day and entertainment that goes on into the night. It has exclusive resorts with golf courses.

Tavira is an architectural gem and culturally authentic of the Eastern Algarve, close to numerous golf courses, as well as beautiful beaches 鈥� including The Ilha de Tavira, a sand island reached by ferry. Removed from the tourist bustle of the western Algarve, Tavira is affordable, peaceful, easy-going place to live.

PS. Have you ever heard about Alentejo?

As you mentioned these issues about your children, I think Alentejo would be a better option, even if it is closer to Algarve, to be able to socialize with your friends聽
