How to move with a dog NYC-->MSK

jandark

Hi all,

I am a Russian living abroad in NYC, and looking to move back home to Moscow. I have a dog (5 yrs old, health, 27 kg/60 lbs), and I am bringing her with me. Usually, when I fly home, I go through Dubai or Qatar... I am also aware that many go through Istanbul. I am worried that this is too difficult/long a flight for my dog. Yes, she'd survive and be mostly ok... but I am looking for alternatives and advice about any other options available to me.

For example, what about flight to Europe, and then entry into the RF by bus/train?

(Knowing my dog... she will be more calm with me on a 12 hour bus than she will be in the cargo hold of a plane for 6 hrs)

Thank you all. If it's relevant, I am and American citizen as well as a Russian citizen.

You will have to check with the airline if you can take the dog in the cabin; different airlines have different rules, and they would be best to advise you on the best solution and rules.
