Part time retirement in Almeria

cotswoldtony

Hi All,
I am seeking some information regarding Long Stays 2-3 months in  Almeria in the spring and autumn time. I have a touring caravan which I can store for the whole year close to Almeria with use of the campsite for 6 months of that year included in a set price.  My meds can only be prescribe for up to 3 months in advance plus I need to make regular trips to hospital for eye check ups hence part time retirement in Spain in the colder wet months here in the U K. I would like to know how easy it is to make new °µÍø½ûÇø friends to enjoy my time there as I am now alone after loosing my partner. Any info would help me to make my mind up with a start date in october or november. Regards Tony

Although you do not ask, but you did mention it,  maybe you are concerned about getting repeat prescriptions, check-ups etc.

Under the terms of the EHIC they are covered,

If you are entitled to an S1 form from DWP, reciprocal 'free health cover in Spain’  then you would  be entitled to the same free services and treatment you now get in UK

So maybe you could retire to Spain, full time !

John, thank you for your prompt reply and info. I agree with you and would love to retire full time in Spain but I have a nice bungalow here in a lovely part of the U K (Cotswolds)  all fitted out for when I become less mobile in the future.  I also have a few medical conditions that took a long time to find the right  consultant/s to find to keep me fit and mobile.  It will be best if I start out as a part time °µÍø½ûÇø and see how things go.  Regards Tony
