Problems with getting deposit back

Hi all

I rented a room for some months and moved away a week ago. I agreed with the landlord when I moved in that I would pay a deposit that I would get back when I left the flat. Now he suddenly says I cant get it back, because they have not been able to find a new tenant to rent the room. That sure isnt my fault, but how do i get the money back - is there somekind of public institution there can help me ?

Try going to the cops?聽 Ask at the Ajuntament?聽 They would know who you should go to.聽 The system heavily favours the landlords here though.聽 Good luck.
