Differences in Propane Tanks and BBQs

Does North America and Europe use the same standard propane tanks for propane gas bbqs?聽 Or are there different sizes and standards?聽 Trying to decide if we should bring our current bbq or sell and rebuy.聽

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a grill and propane tank here.聽 The tank is a different shape for sure.聽 I'm not sure whether the connections are the same size or not, but I really doubt it.聽 I would suggest selling what you have and buying new here.

Did you get a answer if they're the same? I noticed bbq's are much cheaper in US, i.e. Weber and I'm thinking of buying in US via family and shipping switz.

I had the same question. I would really want to keep my current BBQ as I know for sure a similar one would be so much more expensive in Switzerland. Perhaps one can bring the empty tank and have it re-filled?
