I am moving to Kyiv in a couple of months, doesn't appear to be that easy to access long term 12 months + flats for rent, through the internet.

A couple of sites that I have found are relatively pricey, with 2 to 3 bedroom furnished flats at aroung $4,000 to $6,000.

My budget is circa $3,500-$4,000, but would people suggest living in the heart of the city or in the suburbs?

Any "learns", do's and dont's for a newcomer would be much appreciated.

With a budget of up to USD 4,000 you will have no problem finding a high quality apartment in the city centre.
Times have changed in the past year.
I can give you the names of some good web sites that can provide apartments.
