If your only coming to Ukraine for a week, Then I would recommend Kyiv , the city is easily accessible from Boryspol airport. Lots to see and do , lots of young people speak some English.

Hi there

I'd go for Kyiv, too. First up, it's much easier to reach from the airport.

Odessa is fine as well but don't forget that this is a city that is mainly focused on tourists coming there to spend a whole day on the beach.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that was my impression of the city! Obviously, there are the Potiomkin steps, as well as Deribasovskaya street but overall, Kyiv has much more to offer when it comes to touristy places.

You will enjoy the sea  there but much to see in Kiev too. So why not spending 2days in Odessa and the rest in Kiev.

thanks a lot guys

how easy is it to go from odessa to kiev??

There are both train and bus from either side.  Buses are more available than trains. You need to buy train ticket in Vokzal( rail way staiton) and bus ticket in AvtoVokzal( bus station)

You can purchase train tickets on line at     . It works in Ukrainian and English and you can pay by card {I do it on line} or you can go to station wait in a long queue and when you get to the front they will most likely speak only speak Russian or Ukrainian.
As for buses there is more choice of companies to travel with . My suggestion for a European quality bus is Autolux, you can book on line or view their price and schedule at

Hope that helps
