visit visa birth in bahrain

warfaqal

Hey All. I read in a few places that in order to get a birth certificate for your child, the parents need a CPR number? What if the parents are on a visit visa and don't have one. Can they still get an official birth certificate for the child?

You will need to get a notification from the hospital for maternity.  Then if I recall correctly, you have to go to your Embassy for certain documentation and after that approach CIO (birth and death section).   It's been a while since I had exposure to the process so some parts may have changed.

@XTang Thanks for the response. So a cpr is not needed or would a temporary one be provided? I thought only residents could get cprs.

If your marriage contract is not registered in the system before your wife put to birth that is a big problem

After birth the respective hospital is required to give you birth notification Form to obtain this document u have to provide the hospital with the following documentation

1) marriage certificate legalized through your respected embassy and is registered in system in CPR office Issa town

2) father CPR and Mother CPR numbers are need very important

3) a receipt that shows you have paid all the hospital Bill's concerning your wife delivery

After providing all this documents the hospital will give you the birth notification Form and they  will asked you to take it to CIO ( birth and death certificate department Issa town )

So now if it is more than ( 10 Days) since your wife put to birth CIO will not issue you the birth certificate instantly they asked you to open a court case to enable u obtain your child birth certificate which the hold procedure will take like 3 months or more to get the court judgment if the court judgment is positive u will take the judgment and go back to CIO then they will now issue you the birth certificate.

Just sharing my experience

Thanks for the update but it doesn't apply to OP as she is on a visit visa and thus, cannot get a CPR.
