Working visa to Visit visa after resignation

aureleonen

Hi,

I have submitted my resignation already. However, I plan to travel outside Bahrain then come back to Bahrain, and stay here as a tourist for 6 months using visit visa after my resignation.

  1. Is it possible to convert the working visa to 6 months multiple entry visit visa while I am still in Bahrain? Can I start the visit visa application while the current working visa is still active?
  2. If it is not possible to apply the visit visa while my working visa is still active, what are the other options I can do in order to have a multiple entry visit visa, and stay here in Bahrain longer without going back to my home country first?

Thank you all in advance.

There is no conversion of work visa to visit visa.   And to apply for a visit visa, you need to be outside Bahrain.  Also, the application cannot be done while you are on work visa.

There is no other option except to be on another work visa or get one of the self sponsored / golden visas on the basis of property or an investor visa by setting up a company.

Hi Xtang,

Thank you for your reply.

Just want to ask a follow-up question.

I believe there will be a grace period to stay in Bahrain for 30 days after the visa cancellation from employer, and the visa will be officially cancelled once I leave Bahrain.

Does that mean I can apply for a visit visa the next day after leaving Bahrain, or I should wait for a few days before applying for a visit visa?

Once you are out of the country you can apply.
