Compound suggestions

warrenclan

Hello All:)
We are headed to Bahrain for a short visit to check out a few schools and look for some accommodation for our move there this summer. My husband works in Saudi so we want to be close to the causeway. We are thinking our kiddos (two boys ages 8 and 10) will hopefully be going to BSB...
I am trying to narrow down some places to go see while we are there, can I get suggestions from people on compounds that my fit this criteria:
Close to causeway and BSB
Larger compound with nice amenities (nice gym and pool area- we are very into fitness)
Family orientated. I would love for my boys to be able to meet some playmates.

Thanks so much for a reply! It will be so helpful for our visit in a couple of weeks!

Have a look on Bahrain property world as this should give you some idea to narrowing it down and what's available.
It also depends on your budget, furnished or semi furnished, # of bedrooms etc, as to what compounds you'd be looking at as some are more expensive than others and obviously flats are less expensive than villas.
Renting here is a quick process .....we looked at a property one day and within 2 days signed the lease etc.
Hopefully someone can recommend compounds.

3rd week for me but its stint #2 for us in Bahrain. My husband works in Saudi too.
Once you're here you'll settle in quickly. People are friendly. The hardest of it (for me) is driving, but you'll get used to that too!!!

Plenty of °µÍø½ûÇøs ...lots of food from home and familiar shops and brands, plus as a parent you'll mingle and socialise more with other parents too which will help.

Feel free to PM me, will be happy to chat, help where I can

Jumping in on this topic, I have just moved here and am trying to decide on a place for myself, my wife and my 13month boy.

I too will travel in to Saudi, and can't decide between living in a compound I prefer or a compound closer to the causeway.

One is in Janabiyah but the one I prefer is in Jannusan. Any advice on whether the traffic difference between these two areas will be significant?

Ocfemjc

Janabiyah probably slightly closer to causeway but Bahrain isn't large, nothing's far. Jannusan is 1 suburb over from me and I'm not far from highways to causeway but Budaiya highway can get packed and clogged sometimes.

I wouldn't move to Janussan, traffic a nightmare and many fires on Budaiya Highway. Try to stay Sar or Janabiya side if you can. Lots of compounds there and nearer the °µÍø½ûÇø clubs etc

Awesome! That is super helpful! I was narrowed down to hamala, Jasra and janabiya.  But the janabiya side of the causeway is better is what you are saying?
