You don't need to surrender US or EU driving licenses physically, to get a Bahrain driving license. To covert you need to provide a copy of your DL along with the requisite forms and pay the fees. However please do check which of the EU countries are on the approved list..

You need to get this verified, i am not sure about this. You may have to call or visit traffic directorate

Just make a copy of that driver license , and the officer will match the info , and keep the copy , and btw u dont need any kind of tests , and u will get the bahraini driver license in minutes

Normally they ask you to surrender your EU license, yet if you explain the situation they can change the practice, best is to go and ask the Traffic Directorate.

You should be able to.  Most European licenses can easily be converted - don't know about Bulgaria though.
