Extension of eVisa GCC Resident

mdaasif

Hi,
Need help from the experts.
I have a visitor from Kuwait who came to Bahrain on 15-Mar-2020. He is a GCC Resident and he came to Bahrain on eVisa for GCC resident.
His visa expires on 14-Apr-2020. Looking at the current scenario around travel restrictions, I think it might not be possible for him to travel back to Kuwait before visa expires.
I tried with my employer to check whether they can get the visa extended. I was told by them that all visa extension is on hold by NPRA. Can someone of you confirm if its true that all visa extensions are on hold. If yes, then what options I have for this person to stay beyond 15-Apr-2020.

WIll appreciate your thoughts and response on this one.

Only NPRA can help with this.  He needs to go to their offices on exhibition road and check.

I know a few people with this issue, you can call the public relations helpline 17399764.

The advice was, don't worry, airports are closed. They will deal with it on exit after restrictions are lifted, no penalties, just pay for the extension later. The team need to focus on urgent issues and are already on reduced capacity.

Obviously, check yourself if in doubt, but bear in mind they are queueing around the corner at Exhibition road branch and there is not much separation. Also, you need to use the Skiplino application to get an e-ticket, you can't just turn up. Latest and up to date information on their website

Bahrain government is being very pragmatic and SAFE, so I wouldn't worry about the situation.

Thanks a lot. Appreciate your response. Looks like it is a better option to wait till flights start again. DO you think that even if I use Skiplino, I have to wait in the queue at the NPRA office.

For sure.  That only gets you an token.

Dear °µÍø½ûÇø Experts,
As per earlier announcement of NPRA, they were supposed to offer visa extension services electronically from 5th April. I have tried NPRA's website, but am not able to see any option of applying for an extension on the website.
Is anywhere aware of the link through which one can apply for visa extension.

Thanks in advance.

The best thing to do is to visit them and get things clarified

You can't visit. I believe they are not accepting in-person consultations now.
You can phone, or fill out an online form.

Most pages now have a button at the bottom which says "Apply through communication system". You can go to this page, tick box for 'Request Service' and fill in all relevant details.

Yes Vikpaw is right, this news just got published

Thanks for highlighting vikpaw.

Thanks everyone.
I have used the contact system on NPRA's website to put in a request for extension of visa, and have uploaded the documents accordingly. There is no option to pay the visa extension fee. I am assuming NPRA will contact me via email or phone for next steps.
I will keep everyone posted, if my request goes through.

@mdaasif
did you get a response from the NPRA yet? i am also waiting for the response. I have applied and received a reference number via email. wanted to know how long will it take for them to get back.

mdaasif

Hi,
After one week I got a mail  from NPRA to pay 25BD. There was no reference to my earlier reference no in this payment mail. I had paid the fee on 12-April. Since then I have not received any mail from NPRA. I called them up. They said that all the communication will be through email only.
Still awaiting any confirmation from NPRA's side.
