The Kuwait Writers Workshop

Interested in creative writing, poetry, kinship, linguistics? Then maybe we have just the place for you! We are The Kuwait Writers Workshop.

What is it?


Founded in 1993, it is a group of writers who are all involved in some sort of creative writing in progress: eg. novels, poetry, short stories,travelogues.

The writing must be creative and writers are normally first language English or people with a very good command of the English language. It is not a discussion circle or club. It is a workshop environment. You are expected to open yourself to positive - minded critique of your work and to contribute to the critique of the others in the workshop. The atmosphere is,nevertheless, relaxed and friendly.

Any success so far?

The Kuwait Writers workshop has been continuously operating since September 1993 and in that time members have published internationally and locally and links have been made with other workshops abroad. Successful writers have imitated the unique work atmosphere of the Kuwait Workshop when they have left us
to return to USA, Canada, Australia, Lebanon, New Zealand , England, Ireland, Scotland and India.

Meeting times?

Every second Saturday in each othersÂ’ houses/apartments over light snacks: 19.30 to 21. 30. (Workshop to be organized at SeanÂ’s villa in Greece July 2012 with well known guest writer in residence)
