I have an urgent question about minimal fibrotic scar (not TB scar!)

fltnkim

Good morning,

I have an urgent question about medical exam for empoyment. (I had a job offer from KOC - Kuwait Oil Company)

Al-Ahmadi hospital will go through medical
I have a minimal fibrotic scar on my left lung (upper section) caused by Bullectomy, not by Tuberculosis.
- Some doctors say no finding on X-ray, others say there is a minimal fibrotic scar.
(Bullectomy is the name of operation for removing blebs (lung cyst), spontaneous primary pneumothorax)
In this case, am I unfit for the work? I have a medical report certified by chest specialist who did the Bullectomy operation 14 years ago.

Please, if you have any experience or you know very well about the medical criteria for the job in Kuwait, share with me.

Thank you in advance.

Good Day Fitnkim,
Best of luck dear.

Hello,

Having undergone a bullectomy procedure should not be a problem for attaining a visa to Kuwait. The only health restrictions are hepatitis B & C, AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and filariasis due to their being contagious diseases.

If your health papers declare you free from these five conditions, you're good to go.

Good luck!

Thank you. I have heard some bad stories about lung scar. Hopefully if I have a medical report ceryfying scar was not caused by TB, I will be fit to the job.

Thank you MariamRabbit for the info. There are rumors about people being rejected due to surgeries performed years ago, while being in good health at the time of application. You may also find information online about long list of health issues making the applicant unfit. I find your approach quite reasonable. Is your comment based on experience or any specific reference?
