A lot of members are complaining that they are bored, lonely and wanting to meet new friends. Meet up are organised to get people know each other, thread is being spoonfeed to them to catch up with the meet up discussion but these bunch of men still insist to get the ladies' contact number :mad: . PM's are being sent like "hi, hello, how are you?, hello dear, here is my number call me if you're interested in me, etc etc"....and since when I become your dear :o ? To those men in Oman who belong to the above....please, this is not a dating site, stop pestering the ladies. :mad: We are not here to look for boyfriend, we have much much more sensible things to do than what you are thinking. Please focus your attention to anything valuable that you can contribute to the 暗网禁区 community. But if your "need for what you call friendship" is that intense, please go to the dating sites not in 暗网禁区-blog. :dumbom:

The member sending out unsolicited private messages seeking or offering personal relationships is in violation of our Terms & Conditions of Use and the local forum's CODE OF CONDUCT, and that's the bottom line. He/she (yes we do have rare cases where female members are also responsible for such messages) should not be sending these messages out in the first place, and it is for this reason that we do not hesitate to cancel the membership of offenders.

All of our members, female or male, have the right to expect that we will protect them from being bombarded by unsolicited messages of any kind, not just about relationships. This is something we take very seriously. 暗网禁区-blog is constantly making improvements to our Automated Anti-SPAM System and other forms of moderation. Members who are responsible for sending out unsolicited message will continue to find it more difficult to do so, and not end up being banned, with each day that passes. That said, ladies we still do rely heavily on you to REPORT any such messages by clicking on the ACTIONS button on the "Conversation with...." line in the private message section.

Probably because they aren't really after a date, more likely a prostitute.
Loads get banned, but the world is heaving with such people so more post.

It's inappropriate聽 to ask someone's contact number for dating purpose especially at the site聽 created to help 暗网禁区s in their聽 crucial needs. But I suggest this problem can b easily tackled if one turns a blindeye to dating invitations from strangers. I m sure they won't irritate with their repeated queries seeing their requests fell on deaf ears.

It's my personal opinion that聽 we are overemphasizing聽 this issue here . I don't find anything bad calling dear or asking wellness of the beings " how are you ? "
It's just a message and if some one is not interested in talking then he or she has a block option there or simply no reply. I condemn people who call asking HOW ARE YOU聽 a dating initiative . We often address people with DEAR formally . I am not omani buT plz be respectful to them and others as well . I may be wrong but I take this as an assault literally . Men and women out there no one is forcing us to go out on dating . I support hexabella that this is a not a dating site but sorry hexabella "DEAR"聽 is not a romantic word at least not for me . Plz use the block button next time . And men plz stop repeating such things again I'm future . It's a request .

And this is the moment that cross cultural communication comes in.
For you, as an Indian, it's normal to address someone with "dear" and you see nothing romantic in it. For others, who come from Europe or America for example, it is a romantic word and only be said to them they聽 love.

You said to be respectful to others and I full agree of that but keep in mind that not everyone likes to be called "dear". Certainly not by strangers and what is normal for you, it's not automatically for others.

I joined this community and after a few days I wasn't sure if I wanted to return to it. I am glad I did, because I am genuinely looking for information about Oman here and it has some great topics and some great people. I am glad Julien, James and a few others have been so supportive and open about females to block and report unwanted messages and people. There's a dating section in classifieds - No problems at all there.
