Overstay in Oman

I am from India, I received termination notice on 06.02.2018 from company for a three months, but my visa is already expired on 03.02.2018, But still today 20.03.2018, i am continuing my work with company due to work requirement and they are not leaving me. Company is telling me to renew the visa but i do not, because i want to go back to India. Please advise me about the safe Exit and receiving the Settlement., Thanks.

Hi Muthukrishnan,

How can your company ask you to renew your employment visa ? You cannot since the visa renewal has to be done by the company only - after you do your medicals.

If your visa is not renewed even by the grace date, then your employer has to pay a fine.

Since you do not wish to continue working, inform your employer accordingly. Tell your employer of your decision and ask for your full and final settlement to be done well in time - not on the day of your departure.

Put it all in writing and make sure your letter / email is properly received and acknowledged by your company's H.R. / PRO. In case your employer goes back even on any one of the agreed terms, you have the case in your bag against your employer since he has failed to meet the agreed commitments.

Your challenge would be to get your company to acknowledge receipt of your letter / email. They would also know that if they acknowledge that message, they have to stand by the commitment.
