I noticed that the new rules for Qatar visas haven't been mentioned on here so far, so I have found a link for anyone hoping to visit visa on business or to visit friends.

the official notification

and the Qatar Embassy in Washington -

Effectively, the 33 countries that were able to get their visit visa on entry to Qatar, now have to apply for a visa from their local Qatar Embassy. Current word is to allow at least 10 working days before your trip, to get this visa. In all honesty I would make sure you do it sooner than that.
