Can I resign if I didnt sign the contract?

Johnson81

I came to Saudi Arabia on an employment visa. This was obtained with the offer I signed from my employer as I never signed an actual contract.  I have been working for 2 months but wish to leave.

I have just seen the contract and it states if the contract is terminated by the employee, then he/she will bear the costs (flights, loss of business).

My employer has basically said, I can of course leave if I have to, but I will have to pay 3 months salary etc, and has tried to bully me into staying.

My question - Am I bound by the contract if I have NEVER signed it?

Can I leave?

Any help gratefully received!
