Is B-Tech Pass - Pakistan Degree is Eligible to be attested by SCE. In other words can I get an Engineer's Visa on the basis of B-Tech Pass Degree.

If not then please let me know what are my options...

Hello Kex,

As far as my experience is, the SEC will recognize and equate any Bachelors Degree which is of a 4 year full time duration and is recognized by the home country's a) Institution of  Mechanical / Electrical Engineers b) Pakistan Council of engineers PEC c) Heigher Education Commission HEC.

I believe you will be facing the major problem in Pakistan rather than in Saudi Arabia. In Pakistan the IMech Eng  an PEC has been influenced and run by University Degree BEs and BS in Engineering who have always discredited and looked down upon B Tech as a qualification equivalent  to BS and BE, the large private and public employers (eg Atomic Energy Commission Pakistan, Pakistan Steel Mills) have always had two pay scales for B Tech and BE.

There is a lot of detail to this subject, kindly ask specific questions as you face the problems and I will be able to address them.

Hi Riaz,

Thanks for the response, this was valuable insight to the issue.
So Hypothetically speaking, if all three departments in Pakistan  a) b) and c) attest and recognise my degree then SEC should not have any problem recognising it. correct me please if I m wrong.
Also what I understood ealier that HEC & Foreign Affaires Pakistan attestation is sufficiant enough for SEC and Visa application.

Thanks and Regards,

Kex.

Kex,

You are right, so far we were discussing about getting registered as a member of SEC.

Work visa formality is Chapter 2 or you may call it a nightmare, you will be required to do the following after the steps a) b) c).

LIST:

d) Documents attestation by mofa Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
e) ...................................................Ministry of Education
f).....................................................Saudi Council General or Saudi Embassy
g).................................................... Saudi Culture Office
e) Formality of Protector of Immigration.

If you are married and planning to take your family along, this is the time to get the Marriage Certificate ( dont call it Nikah Nama) Translated and attested.

I do not suggest you hire the services of an agent, he will charge you a fortune and try to blackmail you from time to time depending on the urgency you show. There is no reason why you can not do the formalities your self. If you are from Karachi,   I may be able to provide you some guidance.

Thanks,

Actually, SCE will check if the degree is attested by Saudi embassy and Saudi culture in Pakistan.

The Saudi embassy and culture will check of the degree is attested by HEC or and Pakistan foreign affaires or not.

So mainly you need the degree to be attested by HEC.
