Filipino Marriage in Saudi Arabia - I am muslim he is Christian
I have a marriage contract from phillipines...I called the consulate in Jeddah they tell me that its valid here in Saudi..but we need the authenticated NSO marriage certificate..Red ribbon from DFA manila..and stamped at Philippine manila embassy..but we are already both living here in Saudi and my family are living in Mindanao its very far from manila..how can we get the red ribbon and stamped it at embassy? is there any ways that somebody can carry our papers in DFA MANILA AND EMBASSY...second person? and what is the others procedures of making our marriage certificate in Philippines be valid here in Saudi?
Edds wrote:Hello. I would like to ask if getting married here in saudi will also be valid when i get home at philippines?
Is it only valid here in saudi? Thanks.
Pilipinos if getting married should have their marriage ceremony be conducted in Philippine Embassy if in case they are living out side the Philippines, it is valid in Philippines, and divorce is prohibited because divorce is not yet legalized in Philippine law, once they married to aliens..

Hi..
Im muslim and my husband is christian.. We are already married in philippines (civil) . We are now working here in riyadh and we have our marriage certificate stamp by DFA and saudi embassy in phi. Also translated in arabic and stamped by phil embassy here in riyadh.. My question is, is our marriage certificate legal? Will the muttawa accept it since we are not married under shariah court?

We have some cases in Marawi (Lanao del Sur), where the woman is Muslim (Maranao) fell in love with a christian guy. The whole tribe rans after the guy. You know what I mean?
Sister, it is forbidden in Islam for a muslim woman to marry a christian man. You should know that if you were born and grew up Muslim in a muslim community. I think you are a convert to Islam, since you don't know this. If you're a convert you should join our weekly discussions to get advice. Go to the nearest masjid and find a woman muttawa or a saudi lawyer in your area for advice if your marriage is legal here in Saudi Arabia.

in my opinion, your NSO papers will not be accepted if the spelling differs from the passport
i think you have to file a spelling correction to NSO first

Without your Sponsor permission you can't married legally here. If he really love you tell him to go with you pinas and get married.
Lady,
firstly, U just admitted you are in a relationship with a non Muslim guy and you are a Muslim,
and you are here in Saudi. Isn't it Haraam for a Muslim Girl to be in a relationship with a non Muslim? I don't know this, I'm not Muslim, not yet.. ^_^

It's nearly 2 years since she posted. I think she has found the answer to that by now.

First thing as I know Philippine embassy is not accepting any married where you both have different religion, 2nd thing if you done after that you need to certify legally in Saudi Arabia, that's have further more procedure.
Arjieh wrote:Hi. I am a Filipina and i want to get marrie to my longterm Filipino boyfriend here in Saudi Arabia. we are both working here in Saudi. the problem is I am a Muslim and he is a christian. can you help me about the procedures?
how long it will takes?
Hi Arjieh,
If you and your BF want to get married and I really believed that you love each other because your relationship havesurvive for 4 years the best thing to do is go Home in the Philippines and get a Civil wedding in other words make it legal. Then you can ask your employer or your BF Employer to change your status to Family so that he or you can bring each other here as Family but you need also to follow the procedures like make your married documents must attested as a legal document in the philippines and here in KSA and whatever procedure they have. But I still believed that one of you should convert to Either Christian or Islam because for me marraige is sacred and should have blessing from God. anywhow take care and best wishes
