Absence of Contract Renewal Agreement

JEMGE

I have been working here at KSA as an Project Coordinator for the last two years. This is my first contract within the company.

In 2 June 2018, I went for my annual leave for 60 days. Before leaving, I asked my employer regarding the renewal, but he refuse to give me and said we will discuss it later when im back.

Then i returned to the company after i finished my vacation. My employer gave me a contract renewal document to sign, but i did not sign because it was not acceptable, as it had not meet our agreement through verbal only before my vacation. Now, my iqama just renewed and it will expire on 21 August 2019.

My concern for the above reason is that, do i have the rights not to sign the contract which is not base to our agreed verbal conversation? It is okay to work  for 1 year base on my Iqama duration then apply for exit visa due to absence of contract agreement?.

Am not totally sure of the formalities of this...but to what it looks like, you have indeed finished your 2 year contract with the company and hence are no longer bond to them in any agreement whatsoever. Them renewing your iqama for another year just tells the government that you are still on your old contract it has been renewed. So yes you could indeed work for the full duration of the one year iqama renewal and apply for your final exit.

You could also apply for it now. Cause there is none existence of contract that states you are renewed or you are on a New  contract. If you are not happy, just let your employer know by filling a resignation letter and go through the procedure for final exit and leave. You do not need to wait for the entire one year as you did not sign document with them stating that you either renewed your old or had a new contract.

Maybe someone will come throw more light to the subject matter to you.

Good luck

No i do not think he can. If you are sure you did not sign any extension of contract to continue your previous contract nor any other new contract you will not  have any problems. Just make sure to give them a 2 month notice for your resignation.

This is best to my knowledge.
