Second-hand Abayas?

Hi

Is there a souk/shop which sells second-hand or low-cost abayas?

And is it safe for a lady to go there alone, or are there shopping trips amongst ex-pat ladies here?

I do not know that there is second-hand Abaya shop in Jeddah. You can consider Al Bawadi Souk as low-cost market for Abaya, you can get one for 100 SR.

It is safe to go alone as a lady for Al Bawadi Souk

Another place that sells reasonably cheap abayas is "Chinatown" next to the Sultan Mall - they are on the second floor - prices between SR60-150, also know some people that get them cheap at the Filipino Souk on Al Rawdah.

Some compounds have shopping trips if you can get on one - otherwise mostly it is OK to go by yourself - both of those above are OK for females by themselves.
