Anybody who live in Jeddah Gate?

vinne

Hi just want to know as my husband is eyeing to live there instead of the western compound.
He noticed that a lot of western compounds are old and not being maintained well but Jeddah Gate is brand new so just want to know more please about this place.  I think this is a mixture of all °µÍø½ûÇøs and Arabs who can afford.
Please enlighten me thanks.

jeddah gate is a bit far from the nicer parts of jeddah, unless your husband is going to work at the university there, better you try more °µÍø½ûÇø friendly suburbs such as rawdah, or anything near red sea mall, mall of arabia, stars ave, where all the better international schools are located...goodluck

Jeddah gate is like 1 % of downtown Dubai, whenever I go there it feels like i'm in Dubai but of course Saudi vibes all around the place.

As much as the place should have the level of security it doesn't. For example, the condo has security guard, but rarely I see him there, as such I've walked in a few times without being asked, or he is simply reading a newspaper and too lazy to check.

if you do not want the compound life i.e. roaming without abaya for women etc then Jeddah gate is a decent place to be, lots of new buildings being built. I have a strong feeling that it will be a gated community in the near future such as compounds.

Things may have changed now but good luck.

Thanks to both of you who replied to me.
My husband work is near there.  Seems this is the place his boss asked him to consider.
Reading between the lines... Jeddah Gate is far from schools. It may not be a problem for me as I will have a car with a driver included in the family package.
I do like to be in western compounds, but my husband says most of it are run down sorry to say.
It is not maintained well and not worth its price.  BUT the good thing is the security in western compounds you are right  Hamudi.
Anyway... We will see as my husband will wait for me before we decide on this.
I like the photos I see about Jeddah Gate but security and freedom are also important to me.

Yea for now, there is no such thing as freedom at Jeddah Gate, in a compound you can go to a store without your abaya, here you have to sport one. I'm sure the security concern must have been addressed by now. But I tend to agree with your husband, living at Jeddah Gate is much better than living at a compound as the feel is completely different...like I said it feels like Dubai to me but not as such ...
