Hello,
after a long research and debate (thanks to you all)I have decided on a prado. I went to the toyota dealer and for TXL 6 cel the price was 158000 SAR. my questions :
1. any recommendations as to wheather I should go for 4 or 6V (I will mainly be city driving and may be occasional long trips to Jeddah)
2. any one knows if I can get better pricing at a different dealer ?
3. any financing suggestions
thanks

4 cyl is OK for intracity & intercity tours. Will help save 20K to 25K over 6cyl. Though I guess 4 cyl will require more reselling effort yielding comparatively less value.

ALJ is the only authorized importer and reseller. Other dealers (e.g. Abdul Rasheed) also purchases from ALJ & resells. Visiting showrooms in Naseem & intense negotiation may help save 1500-3000.

- Showrooms usually offer 8%/yr. 3 yrs plan will mean 24% more.
- Banks: check out this pdf:

In both above cases, the car ownership will remain with the lending party till you pay all installments. That will essentially mean that you can't sell the car.

My 2 cents: Get a personal loan (SABB is quite flexible these days though interest rate is as high as 4.7%) and buy the car in your name.

This rate varies depending on the down payment amount, the residual value they estimate and the year plan you choose. In any case UIS is offering exhorbitant financing rates. And I am sure other third party leasing agencies are offering similar rates. Nothing less than 8% per annum which is quite high in my opinion.

ok if u got Saudi health council or Saudi engineering council membership and registration then you can get loans interests free up to certain amount ! one of my fellow °µÍø½ûÇø colleague got 200k as loan and is doing well this way.. 2ndly yes ALJ is the sole distributor but i remember if i am not wrong once you warned buying used cars from ALJ even as they are not trust worthy too in deceiving and selling repaired items etc so dropped that idea too afterwards.. and a friend of mine took ANB financing and told me that they are very reasonable..

:) That was about 2nd hand cars DrHassan. In this thread, we are talking about brand news. Again: ALJ is not for you if you're in the hunt for a preowned. I remember I saw a repaired Camry 2008 was being offered for 68,000 & interest rate on it as 12%. Excuse me!

Hmm.. but may be on bargaining some of the vehicles become worthy ! one of my dads friend bought a fortuner 2011 in just 65000 with no repairs too(it had some financing installments issue i guess with previous allotted guy and was confiscated by ALJ, is what he told) so i used to think may be some juicy offers could be grabbed from there occasionally.. though idea drooped for used cars after you shared your observations
