27000 SAR/month budget, apartment?

andretsa

Hello Guys,

I am about to move to Riyadh in January. And my company provides me with a 2,7000 SAR per year  subsidy for housing.

Is it possible to get an apartment for one with this amount for a year? I am not asking for super descent or luxurious type of apartment. Just one that is normal and easy to access.

Please give me your opinions!!!!!!!

Thanks

Andre

Welcome at °µÍø½ûÇø..............
And 27k/Sr is enough for getting a good apartment in
Riyadh........(but it will not be in compound).

andretsa

Thank you!!!
To be honest, I am not even thinking about being in the compound. Salary is not that much for me to afford a compound. And I assume I still live a life outside the compound, don't I?:D

I assume that there are shopping malls, gyms and swimming pools for men outside the compound right? After all it is a modern country with some specific customs.

;)

Yes,there are but you have to search these..........

andretsa

Thank you khuramluck,

of course I will search for these things. It's another good way to explore the city.

What would be the general cost of renting an apartment in a compound anyway? Would double the amount of 2,7000 SAR be sufficient?

To find out about gyms, swimming pools, etc.(which have been discussed many times), use the "google custom search" box at top right.

Best of luck!

The compounds are pricey, the least would be 75K and you can call it compound only causes its gated.. doesnt give u facilities..
a nice compound would be atleast 120+

Yes in 27 you can find nice apartments but again depends upon your selection.

andretsa

Thank you pkmusd

I am not that worried about the safety situation in Saudi as some other people do.
But could the mutaween be a big problem if I choose to live outside of the compounds?

nopes not at all. They don't get in the house.
However, when you go out you have to wear the abaya.

Okay, the mutaween won't 'raid' your apartment ordinarily BUT if you raise the suspicions of neighbors who think you are doing something naughty, they could report you and then you *would* be raided!

andretsa

Something naughty?

That sounds suspicious already!!

Are there maybe general don'ts in order not to be suspicious?  :o
