Family visit visa(I'm American, wife Indian)

wshotton

I'll be arriving in Riyadh in a few days to teach English.  My wife and daughter(US born) are waiting in India for my 3 month probationary period to end.  Does anyone have advice on what we can do to expedite the process or to at least be fully prepared when the time comes?  Does anyone have experience with getting a family visa with a wife of different national origin?

Coordinate with the company HR to issue visa from India for them. The point of origin will be India in this case.

The process will only go as fast as your company wants and/or the wasta it has. To prepare you should get the proper documents in order and find the appropriate hospital for the medical clearance.

The documents will require government stamps from their place of issue as well as stamps from the Saudi embassy from their place of issue (example a US birth certificate needs US stamps and a stamp from the Saudi embassy in the USA, an Indian marriage license needs stamps from India and a stamp from the Saudi embassy in India). The Saudi embassy sites for each country should tell you the exact stamps required.

You may be able to get their medicals done now, it depends on their expiration date (ours expired in 60 days so my SO had to get it done a second time due to the length of the visa process).

Your wife having different nationality should be no problem. Just make sure to have the proper documents stamped in proper locations (at minimum you will need your work contract, your degree, your marriage license, and your daughter's birth certificate).

Good luck!

Thanks very much for the advice.  I leave for Saudi tomorrow;  I'm very excited.  Take care.
