You know it happened to my hubby twice within one month & he had to pay the fine. He drives reasonably within speed limits (never drives like a maniac, nor runs the red light or anything).  And actually many times when the speed crazies hit someone behind him, they would flash their light, honk, cut him off, stick to the back of the car, or worse try to squeeze in to pass all of this so that he speeds up crazy like they're doing. I really dont know whether this Saher thing is biased, or it just takes a picture & instead of targeting the wrong doer, they fine the wrong guy just bcs he's been in the wrong place @ the wrong time.

It doesnt have artificial intelligence, just knows how to flash flash flash.......

Waiting at the Al Nemer (Mousa bin Nasir Street) Olata Road intersection last evening at around 6pm the camera flashed at least 10 times capturing violations from all sides of the streets. Thats SR 3,000 in a 10 minute period. Looks like this is gonna fetch big bucks for the private companies who have been contracted to collect the fines?

I don't think that one really works. It flashes but maybe it's in testing phase


I've been flashed on that signal more than 10 times in the last 2 month. (have to pass there as my office is besides it). but never got a message.

FYI - Saw them installing the cameras near exit 8 between there and the Granada Mall.  Sign is up and units installed, not sure if yet operational.  The side is the one coming from exit 8 to Granada.

but i seriously feel the government shud reconsider the speed limits at some roads... somedays back, during eid holidays, i was following the speed limit on a particular road and it seemed as i wud be better off walking...

I agree and hope that the next step would be to make these limits flexible and adjustable. Any such systems takes time for the people and for the Govt. to go thru and get adjusted, however in other parts of the world, these were implemented based on the feedback, things like this came slowly came into effect and hope here is also the same case tooo.

I guess it wont take the whole picture, it captures the Vehicle details from the signals it gets.

Anyway i am in strange how catched me camera 8.24 pm or am while i was not driving the car same timings while the car was rented on 01/12/2013 and i parked the car near my office as my duty hours are 5pm to 9.15pm and other point to be noted that the place of violation is
Batha road while everybody knows that   this road runs always buisy and rushy nobody can go on
high speed above except 25-30-35-40-50 while 70km ph is allowed on this road.

One of my friend was on vacation and his number plate was stolen from his parked car. Our office colleagues suggested to file an FIR  with the police which he did reason being people here steal the number plates and put it on their vehicle and then enjoy drifting & speeding.
If you are sure that you were not driving in Batha during the time the ticket was issued then ask for help from your car rental company to solve this issue with the traffic police.
