as a Saudi I can tell you social life is easy. People love to have friends, but some of them do not speak English which could be a barrier. You need to start making friends with co workers.
music events are rare. However, there are many festivals are taking places during weekends.
There will be huge festival will start next week (as far as I know) called Jinadriah. Lot of people come to see the culture and part of it is a show for national musics and local dance + Shops and corners for other countries

Janadria will be in Riyadh.It will start at 2/2/2017. it is an annual large festival started 30 years ago. They offer different sections, handmade, old dress and food of different parts of Saudi, other Arab and European culture. Last year as I remember there were Arab countries and Germany.

Also now there are many food trucks at the hall of King Fahad National Library

My friend i read your advice to the Italian friend . I am Greek and working here in Al Khobar and i havve the same problem... i dont know what events exist... sport racing ... music concerts... boxing and karate... i like to go and make photos... can you give me advice ?
