Profession changing in iqama

shoukathshaanu

@mailmeksyed

Thank you for your reply. You've cleared all my doubts. Once again thanks a lot for explaining step by step procedure. :top:

Abubakar_ijaz

I am 5 years experienced electrical engineer. I have received a job offer from a Saudi Company. They are offering me a Labor Visa and aren't willing to change it to Engineer in the next Iqama renewal.
Will I get the family status on a labor visa? Is it legal to work like this in KSA? Will there be an issue for me?

What if I apply for immigration to any other country after working here in Saudia.
Will my company gives me an experience letter of labor or an engineer?

Don't come on that visa.
And there is no family status for a labour.

Hey Folks! Assalamu alaikum

Does anyone has any idea about how long will it take to get the MOFA number/Visa number after signing the offer letter and sending the supporting documents? Since, I am currently based in Dubai and signed the offer letter in the mid July 2021 but until now I didn't get the MOFA number.

Your valuable suggestions help me to take further action in this regard.

Thanking you in an anticipation.

Hello,

Can someone confirm if Profession change is open or stopped?

As per my HR, it is stopped but I am not too sure if they are lying or actually its blocked.

I am registered as Communications Engineer in SCE & would like to change my Iqama Profession to match SCE in order to Apply permanent family Visa.

Current Iqama Profession is Electrical Technician which is not acceptable by Istiqdam to process the Visa.

Profession changing is blocked by the government right now.

Brother do you know since when it has been blocked? I believe it was open at the start of year right?

Since September when they put the decision to take the Professional Verification Test.
And even before that, it was blocked for some professions.
And it is still blocked for some professions which are meant to be only for Saudis now.

And we have no idea how to check which professions are meant to be for saudi only right?
My HR tried today as per them and they couldn't process it as once they select any profession system does not allow them to submit the request.

I just don't understand this stupid system, my Iqama profession is electrical technician which is eligible for Permanent family visa and i am also registered in SCE (as communication engineer), now due this government policy I got stuck despite every document ready and wanting to change the profession change even.

Shouldn't Istiqdam office give exception since Government has stopped the profession change? or Do you know any Agent who are doing these type of works?

They have released the news that it is on hold now.
They are doing that exam thing and till then it will be on hold no matter what we think or what the odds we are facing.

Oh you can go to jawazat for that.
Ask them.
Have you heard about Professional Verification Test?
As long as that test is going on, this hold on profession change can prolong.
Why?
Because the government want to test every single person with a skilled profession on iqama.
If they allow to change professions, a lot of guys would change their profession to some non skilled ones and get rid of the exam.

Ok to give everyone an update:

My profession was changed a few days ago from marketing specialist to an accounting director profession. The process is NOT standard and all of it is being done by MOHRE (Your HR CANNOT change it in the system by themselves). Your sponsor will need to get involved heavily at each stage and there is NO agent who is able to help (they say they can do it but cannot manage it due to system block).

The steps in my case were:

1) Verification by SOCPA and conversion of Membership to associate. This took around 2 weeks as my employer got involved and requested SOCPA to fast track verification process
2) Submission of the SOCPA certificate, Company CR and request to MOHRE
3) A committee in MOHRE reviews all such requests, gives their recommendation and then it is approved all the way to the top
4) Finally, the Company was told to pay the fee in the system and the profession was changed instantly

Now, in my case, it was a change TO a Finance profession but I would assume that the same applies for every profession i.e. you MUST get fully verified by the professional body that dictates governance for your profession e.g. SCE for Engineers etc.

Hope this helps.

Bro, can you confirm the Submission to MOHRE was done by the HR or by yourself?
And is this process known to companies, because I doubt if all the companies will go to such lengths for its employees..

XTang

Everything was handled by my Company. I didn't have to do anything myself (Except apply for SOCPA registration in the beginning). And the reason they pushed for me is because I am in Top Management.

The point is that profession change CAN happen. Now whether your company chooses to support you in that or not, is a different matter.

abdulahath

Dear, please clarify if General accountant proffession can change any other proffession due to SOCPA cancelled

MOHRE? Are you referring to Ministry of Human resources/Labor in Saudi arabia?

XTang

Yes I am referring to that Ministry. After my last update, we changed professions for other employees. There is a process for that.

Your company needs to file a request with MOHRE (Physical letter and documents submission). Then that request goes before a committee. If approved, you will get notification to pay profession change fees and it will be done after that. Through the normal online system, it is still blocked.

Hello,

It is through Qiwa system now, very easy

@a_rags_23 It is incorrect that Engineer visa is not issued now a days from Saudi Arabia. I know three engineers who came here recently on Engineer visa from India and their registration with Saudi Council of Engineers is in process. For stamping visa as Engineer, the Saudi Consulate checked that the applicant had ATTESTED copy of engineering degree. The requirement for registration with SCE is that you must have minimum five years experience and you must have a Bachelors degree in any field of engineering.

Regarding Change of profession, you must of qualification of the profession to which you want to change. I also know that a person who had "Labour" as profession in Iqama but it was changed to "Mechanical Engineer"after he got registered with SCE.

Aloneboy

I want to change my profession to general accountant so to start the process does my HR/Sponsor applies for the profession change online (IS IT WORKING ONLINE OR IS IT STILL BLOCKED) or do they have to submit documents personally and can I get SOCPA registration on my current iqama Which is for sales representative??

Aloneboy

Hy guys 1 quick question

If my Degree Bachelors of commerce do get accepted by socpa for having enough accounting academic hours would i still need to pass their exams or will i get the complete associate membership after verification.

manikandann049

Hi sir

Hi . This is Hassan Javaid. I need your kind help and guidance. I came in Saudia Arabia on an independent visa of "Mechanical Engineer " /" Muhandis mechanici ". Now to get my first iqama I was asked to get register with Saudia Council of Engineers.

I went through submission of all documents but my request was sent back with objection that I don't have 5 years experience. Actually it's just 4 months less. My degree will be completed 5 years this September.

Now I don't know what to do. They asked me to go to final exit but I found a form on my portal and sent it to them for temporary change of profession.

But I am not getting any response from more than a week now.

My Yaqeen is green tick✅

But Jawazat is red cross ❌

Can anyone explain what should I do. I got a job but company is asking to take a transfer. But I don't have an iqama I can't take transfer.

In Saudi Arabia, the Iqama is an essential document for riates residing in the country. It is a residence permit allowing individuals to live and work in the Kingdom legally.

Recently, there have been some significant updates to the rules and procedures for Iqama renewal. If you are an immigrant living in Saudi Arabia, staying informed about these changes is crucial to ensure a smooth renewal process.

The Saudi government has implemented several changes to simplify the IQAMA renewal process, they released new rules for iqama renewal.

These changes aim to reduce bureaucracy, enhance transparency, and expedite the renewal procedure. riate workers and their employers can benefit from the new rules, which ensure a smoother and more efficient renewal experience.

Hello Friends

My consulting asking to change Sales representative profession to Project Management Specialist Profession when I ask them to change to Engg professions.

Could you guide me if this is safe from Saudiization?

Also Project Management Specialist is higher than Engg profession?

Thank you

Senthilkumar

@senthilr82 Saudization rules changes time to time and no profession is free from it. My suggest is that you first stick to a profession best suits your current job field and best to avoid any with Manager / Supervisor category. All the best
