Scam calls (from India)

cdw057

Internet is full of several scams coming from India (Microsoft, Investments, ...) not too often so far, having said that our main number is known with many, many providers (furniture, restaurants, real estate agent, government, ..) I suppose easy to get a hold of lists.

We intend to block straight away (no family/job/...)

In Hungary when living there sometimes we got calls from Bermuda (!!) (and also inside Hungary), easy when people do not speak English or German it means blocked, official instances and banks know my e-mail address.

A bit the same for Turkey

No experience in Turkey but in the UK 90 of such calls show up as 'SUSPECTED SPAM' in my android phone. Apparently iphones don't show the same...here anyway.

So I always answer and say 'Hello suspected spam' 90% of the time they hang up.

What is prevalent in the UK is that they present as a UK number, but when you answer you can hear the auto-dailler connecting (it's pretty obvious) to an operator. When they say hello I simply say 'I dont soeak to anyone using an auto-dialler'.

Then usually an Indian voice says 'I don't know what your talking about'.

At that point I disconnect the call 📞 X
