Currently I'm working as a technical sales (computer products) and my sister that lives in Calgary told me that if you want to get a quick job you should learn carpentry or automotive.

I am willing to take whatever job is available.

Hello Pat,

There's a lot of jobs in Calgary. You can go look at kijiji.ca, indeed.ca or search some local staffing agency like Randstad. You can also look at Jobbank.ca. I used ExpressEmployment Staffing agency when I was looking for a job.

It's a bit hard for now because of recession. You can check malls as well if you are not picky. I live in Calgary btw. I work at Old Dutch Foods. We are hiring but not sure if we still need people. It's above the minimum plus good benefits. Also the people who works here been here more that 5yrs to 20yrs.

Make sure your resume is really good.

Also try not to be picky. Whatever opportunity you get, take advantage. Because it will add up on your experience and also you'll be able to expand your knowledge esp if you are having a hard time looking for a new one.

If you wish to learn carpentry or automobile, that is good for you. You can make your own business if you have certificate or diploma. I have friends who does those job.

Always remember the experience. Explore things. Good luck!
