There was a managerial opening at Toronto for which the offer is CAD100,000anually, and I am negotiating with them at present.

Thanks in advance for your support.

         Best Wishes

So many views and no response.

Hello AME,

Yes $100,000 is good in Toronto or anywhere else in Canada, but it is considerably LESS than you're earning right now.

If that is the gross salary then you'll have even less after taxes.

You present tax free montly salary would be $12,028 CAD so the annual gross salary you would need to stay at exactly your same income level in Canada would be somewhere in the area of $180,000 CAD or almost double what you are being offered.

Looks like you've got a WHOLE LOT TO NEGOTIATE yet!!!

Hi William

     Thank you for your guidance.

I am in the process of negotiation with fingers crossed.

I imagine the UAE to be an extremely expensive place, even more so than Toronto. I also imagine there to be less gender equality in the UAE, limiting your wife's ability to work and contribute?

Don't forget long-term outlooks: after 1 year as a temporary worker, you can apply for Permanent Residency under the Canadian Experience Class.
Your children if any can grow up in Canada (I can't imagine raising a daughter in the UAE...)

On the other hand, winter.

Hello szocske

Is winter in Toronto a concern?

It's a matter of personal preference: Summer in your climate is a concern for me :-)

Depends if you like snow and freezing temperatures. On the positive side there is snow skiing.
