light switch turn hot

Why does my light switch turn hot? Should I call for an electrician when this happens?

Your light switch should not be hot to touch when it is on.
you should turn it off until someone can check it for you.

Call an electrician as soon as possible. Hot usually means a duff connection with high resistance, and that can lead to fire.

1 - Do not use the light at all
2 - If the switch remains hot when not in use, isolate the breaker that feeds that circuit (I'd do that anyway - Lights and sockets should be on different breakers so you can always use a table lamp for the moment)

Thank you, Yes I'll do that suggestions.

Fred, I'm not using it until electrician comes over. Thank you!
