There is a pretty large Latvian community in Minnesota. There used to be a large Latvian church on 54th and 1st, but they have since moved. When I was younger, I rented a house from a couple from Latvia by the name of Dunnens. I'm sure if you do some research you'll find a site in MN. for the Latvian community. They mostly came during and right after WWII.
